Brightline at Orlando airport: a very good train to the wrong coast

There is a proper intercity railway station attached to Orlando International, a short walk from Terminal C. It is clean, it is fast, and for most people landing at MCO it is completely useless. Here is what it is actually for.

Start with the thing visitors get wrong. Brightline is at the airport, so people assume it is airport transport. It is not. It is a way of leaving the Orlando region entirely, southbound, without a connecting flight or a three and a half hour drive down the Turnpike. If you have landed at MCO and you are going to a hotel anywhere in Orlando, close this page and read the airport guide instead.

If you are going to West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale or Miami, it is one of the best things about flying into Orlando, and almost nobody plans for it.

Where the station is

It is genuinely at the airport, not a shuttle ride away. The platforms and concourse sit immediately beside Parking Garage C, inside the airport complex.

Reaching it from your terminal

Which terminal you land in decides how much walking you do, exactly as it does for every other way out of MCO. Terminal C is the new one on the south side and the station was built against it.

From Terminals A and B in the Main Terminal you take the terminal link across to the station rather than the bridge. Going the other way, from the station to Terminals A and B, you follow the signs back to the terminal link.

Allow for the walk

Give yourself more time than the map suggests if you are coming from Terminals A and B with luggage and children. The terminal link is straightforward, but it is a connection, and MCO is a very large building. Terminal C to the station really is just a walk across a bridge.

Where it goes

Five stations south of Orlando, all on the east coast: West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura and Miami. That is the whole railway. There is no branch, no western leg and no Orlando suburban service.

Worth saying plainly, because the question comes up constantly: there is no Tampa station. A Tampa extension has been talked about for years, and as of October 3, 2026 Tampa still does not appear as a station when you try to book a journey. Treat it as a proposal, not a timetable.

Equally, Brightline is not SunRail and does not connect to it in any useful way. If you want the commuter line through downtown Orlando and Winter Park, that is a different railway with its own guide, and it does not come to the airport either.

The schedule, with a caveat

Brightline's own Orlando station page, checked on October 3, 2026, states approximately two hours between Orlando and West Palm Beach, three hours thirty minutes between Orlando and Miami, and 16 daily round trips with hourly northbound and southbound departures.

Check your train before you book

On the same day we checked those figures, Brightline's published timetable listed ten Orlando departures, every one of them terminating at West Palm Beach, with no Orlando to Miami train shown in either direction. The station page and the timetable disagree, and nothing Brightline publishes explains which is current. It may be that the Miami leg is now a change at West Palm Beach. Before you book, check your actual train, and if you are going to Miami confirm whether that is one train or two. We will update this page when we can confirm it.

On fares we are going to disappoint you on purpose. Brightline prices dynamically across SMART and PREMIUM tiers, the way an airline does, so any single number printed in a guide is wrong for most readers by the time they read it. Brightline's booking engine did not return prices to us on October 3, 2026. Get your fare from the operator for your own date and train.

For context on why the service has been in flux: Brightline Florida's parent companies entered a pre-packaged Chapter 11 restructuring on September 25, 2026, with trains reported to be running as normal throughout. That is a balance sheet event rather than a service cancellation, but it is the kind of period in which timetables get reworked, which may well be what we ran into above.

Parking

Because the station is airport property, you park in airport car parks and the rates are the airport's, not the railway's. Useful if you live in Central Florida and are taking the train south for a few days.

Surface Lots 1 to 3$20 a day, checked October 3, 2026. Requires E-Pass Plus or SunPass Plus

The surface lots needing E-Pass Plus or SunPass Plus catches people out. If you are in a hire car without a transponder arrangement, sort that out before you arrive rather than at the barrier.

Who should ride it

Brightline from MCO: who it suits
OptionVerdictWhy
Orlando plus Miami or Fort Lauderdale in one tripYes, easilyBeats a connecting flight on comfort and beats the drive on effort. You walk from your arrivals hall to the platform.
Going to a hotel in Orlando, anywhereWrong toolThe train goes nowhere near Orlando hotels, parks or International Drive. Use rideshare, a shuttle or a car.
A day trip to the coast without a carPossible, but thinkYou still need to get around at the far end, and a return the same day leans on a timetable we could not fully confirm.
Connecting to a cruise at Port CanaveralNoWrong direction entirely. Port Canaveral is east of Orlando, not south.
Central Florida resident heading to Miami for a few daysYesPark at the airport, walk to the platform, skip the Turnpike.

Know before you go

  • The station is beside Parking Garage C, not inside the Main Terminal. From Terminals A and B it is a terminal link ride, not a walk.
  • It serves five east coast stations and nothing in Orlando. There is no Tampa station as of October 3, 2026.
  • Journey times and frequency here are Brightline's own published figures, and its timetable disagreed with them on the day we checked. Confirm your train.
  • No fare is printed on this page because we could not verify one. Price your own date with the operator.
  • Parking is the airport's, open 24 hours, with surface lots at $20 a day as of October 3, 2026.

How we checked this

Everything on this page was taken from Brightline's own website and the airport's own parking information on October 3, 2026, not from other guides. Where Brightline's pages contradicted each other we have said so rather than picking the more flattering number, and where we could not get a figure at all, as with fares, we have left it out rather than estimating it. Figures attributed to Brightline above are Brightline's claims, dated, so you can check them against what you are actually sold.

Before you travel

Fares, schedules and pickup locations in Central Florida change without much notice, and Brightline's in particular were in flux when this page was written. Everything here was checked on October 3, 2026. Confirm anything that matters to your trip with the operator before you rely on it. Found something out of date? Tell us and we will fix it.

Common questions

At 10705 Jeff Fuqua Blvd, Orlando, FL 32827, immediately beside the airport's Parking Garage C. It is part of the airport complex rather than a separate site across town. From Terminal C you reach it on foot across a pedestrian bridge. From Terminals A and B you take the terminal link. Checked on October 3, 2026.

No, and this is the most common misunderstanding about it. Brightline runs south to the east coast. It has no station at Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, International Drive or anywhere else in the Orlando tourist corridor. If your hotel is in Orlando, the train at the airport is not your way of reaching it.

Brightline's own Orlando station page, checked on October 3, 2026, states approximately two hours to West Palm Beach and three hours thirty minutes between Orlando and Miami. On the same day, its published timetable listed ten Orlando departures, every one terminating at West Palm Beach, with no Orlando to Miami train shown in either direction. We could not reconcile the two from anything Brightline publishes. Confirm the actual train, and whether Miami means a change at West Palm Beach, when you book.

We are not going to print a fare we could not check. Brightline sells SMART and PREMIUM tiers and prices them dynamically, like an airline, so the figure you see depends on the train and how far ahead you book. Brightline's booking engine would not return prices to us on October 3, 2026. Get the fare from gobrightline.com for your own date rather than from any guide, this one included.

Yes. The station uses the airport's own parking, open 24 hours. Surface Lots 1 to 3 were posted at $20 a day on October 3, 2026 and require E-Pass Plus or SunPass Plus. Parking Garage C can be reserved up to 365 days ahead, and the South Park Place economy lot runs a shuttle. Garage and economy rates are set by the airport, not by Brightline.

Not as of October 3, 2026. A Tampa extension has been discussed for years and has had rounds of regional and financing support, but Tampa does not appear as a station when you try to book, which is the only test that matters. For Tampa from MCO you are driving, flying or taking a coach.
