Why that pick. Rideshare is usually cheaper here for one or two people, and a flat private quote only closes the gap once you are at XL prices or a peak-hour surge. What you are buying at this distance is certainty: a fixed price agreed in advance and a car that is contracted to turn up, on a trip where being an hour late has consequences.

Still deciding how you leave the airport at all? The Orlando airport transportation guide compares every option out of MCO, terminal by terminal, before you narrow it to Port Canaveral.

Know before you go

  • A shared shuttle is the cheapest scheduled option at about $30 a person each way, but departures cluster late morning and a flight landing after noon may miss them entirely.
  • Rideshare is usually cheapest for one or two people. Availability back from the port on a turnaround morning is the weak point, not the price.
  • Allow 90 minutes from MCO on a Saturday, not the 55 that a map suggests.
  • Confirm any quoted price includes port entry and terminal waiting.

Beyond Orlando

This is a long transfer, which changes the economics completely. Over about forty miles, rideshare pricing climbs faster than a flat private rate, and a rental car for the day often beats both.

How we priced this

Distance is approximately 47 road miles from Orlando International Airport. Rideshare figures are modelled from Orlando UberX pricing at $5.50 base plus $2.05 per mile plus a $4.00 airport fee, then widened to a range covering off-peak to heavy surge. They are estimates for planning, not quotes, and Orlando surges hard when flights land in waves or a convention lets out. Private car figures are typical flat rates for a sedan or standard SUV from a permitted local operator. Shuttle and transit fares are the published ones. All checked September 15, 2026.

Common questions

Rideshare, off-peak, for one or two people at $90, taking roughly 59–84 min door to door. Cheapest is not the same as best: read the catch column above before you book it.

About 55 minutes of actual driving. Door to door, allow around 59–84 min by rideshare once you add the walk to the pickup zone and the wait for a driver, and longer if you checked bags. A pre-booked car that meets you inside saves most of that overhead.

It depends on party size and what your arrival looks like. For one or two people with carry-ons it is hard to justify against a $90 to $164 rideshare. For five or more people, a late-night landing, or anyone travelling with children who need car seats, a flat $250 quote that is met at baggage claim is usually the better purchase. We rank the operators on our private transportation page, and we disclose our interest in one of them.

Probably yes. Outside the resort areas Orlando has very little transport a visitor can use on a schedule. Our rental car or rideshare guide works the seven-day arithmetic through, including tolls and parking.
